June 20, 2026 — China General Customs Administration released half-year metal pipe fitting export statistics, revealing total flange export volume reached 1.28 million tons from January to June 2026, representing an 18% year-over-year increase in quantity and a 23% year-on-year rise in total export revenue, driven by robust demand from Southeast Asian industrialization and European energy infrastructure renewal projects. As the world’s largest flange production and export base, China’s Shanxi Dingxiang County accounts for over 70% of national forged steel flange export volume, while Hebei Mengcun region specializes in medium-small standard stainless steel and carbon steel flanges supplying global distributors across 40+ countries and regions.
Regional breakdown highlights the RCEP bloc as the fastest-growing export destination, with combined shipments to Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam jumping 31% YoY in H1 2026. RCEP tariff reduction policies eliminate 90% of import duties on steel flange products between member nations, significantly enhancing price competitiveness of Chinese flanges against European and North American manufacturers in Southeast Asian industrial project bidding. Singapore remains the top single Southeast Asian buyer, importing massive batches of ASME B16.47 large-diameter A105N carbon steel blind and weld neck flanges for petrochemical park and cross-island pipeline construction projects; multiple Chinese manufacturers including Haihao Group completed successive bulk shipments to Singapore industrial clients throughout May and June 2026, covering NPS 8 to NPS 36 Class 150–600 flange specifications.
European market demand maintains steady 12% YoY growth, primarily fueled by EU cross-border hydrogen transmission pipeline planning and water treatment facility renovation programs. Portugal, Poland and Belarus are major new growth markets, with European contractors prioritizing customized alloy flanges including ASTM A182 F316Ti, duplex 2205 and LF2 low-temperature carbon steel grades compliant with EN 1092-1 and ASME international standards. Latin America and Middle East markets deliver stable single-digit growth, supported by new refinery construction in Mexico, Ecuador and Saudi Arabia, though export growth is partially restricted by occasional regional steel import tariff adjustments.
Product structure shifts reflect global downstream industry demand changes. Large-diameter energy-grade flanges (NPS 24 and above) record the strongest shipment growth at 47% YoY, covering wind power tower base flanges, LNG terminal pipeline flanges and cross-country crude transmission blind flanges. Standard small-size general industrial flanges maintain moderate single-digit growth, while corrosion-resistant duplex and superalloy flange exports surge 35% YoY as chemical and offshore marine project investment expands globally. Chinese manufacturers have upgraded full quality control systems to meet international engineering certification requirements, providing third-party material test certificates, hydrostatic pressure test reports and ultrasonic flaw detection documentation for all export batches, raising product recognition among global EPC contractors.
Industry trade associations note two core factors sustaining export expansion: first, post-pandemic global industrial infrastructure investment recovery, with emerging economies accelerating refinery, power and water pipeline construction; second, continuous domestic industrial upgrading, where Chinese factories widely adopt automated CNC forging, robotic machining and digital quality inspection equipment to stabilize dimensional precision and delivery timelines, resolving historical overseas buyer concerns about inconsistent product quality. Meanwhile, export enterprises actively participate in international trade expos including the Canton Fair and Global Energy Equipment Exhibition to develop new overseas distributors and end-user clients, diversifying market layout to reduce reliance on single regional markets. Looking ahead to H2 2026, industry analysts project flange export growth will sustain at 14–16% full-year average, supported by Q4 peak construction season order releases across Europe and Southeast Asia.
